How Caroline Works with Children and their parents
Caroline works collaboratively with parents at all times. From her experience, the more parents and Caroline work as a team in addressing the presenting issues, the faster healing happens.
Caroline can work in three different modalities with your child.
- Child Centred Play Therapy
- Filial Therapy
- Theraplay ®
Child Centered Play Therapy is where Caroline works on a one to one basis with your child. It is a therapy that is child centred and child led. There are frequent reviews with the parents or guardians.
Filial Therapy is where the therapy, through play, is done with the parent and the child together. There are frequent reviews with the parent.
Theraplay ® is a therapy where the work includes a parent being present. The play element is directional in its how it's delivered. It builds on forging stronger links in areas such as engagement, nurture, structure and challenge.
What coming to Caroline will look like?
- A Parent or Guardian contacts Caroline.
The parents or Guardians of the child will be invited into Lullaby Tree Centre.
A thorough discussion will be held for Caroline to fully understand the presenting issue. It is important that the child is not present for such conversations.
- The best therapeutic approach will be decided upon
- The child, or the child and parent will be invited in, to begin the work.
- Depending on the child's age, each session will be for between 45 and 50 mins.
Which modality is chosen, will be decided from the assessment stage of the work.
